Overview
Two trips in one! Start the journey with a jeep ride from Hvar town to Hvar Island Peak; the highest peak of the island. From there, you start the hike down to sea level, stopping in a cave that hides a small abandoned monastery inside. This tour ends with lunch in the seaside village before getting on a jeep to return to Hvar.
Day 1: Hike from Hvar Island Peak
We will start the tour on a jeep transfer from Hvar town to the highest peak of Hvar island: St.Nicolas 626m above sea level. It is about a 45-minute long ride. The climb from the parking spot to the top is about 15 minutes long. After enjoying the views and listening to your guide share insights and fun facts, we will start our downhill hike towards Sveta Nedjelja.
The hike down to sea level is steep and not recommended if you have knee or ankle injuries, so please advise us if that is the case. The trail passes along the ancient path that connected the south and north coast of the island; this was the daily commute of people, donkeys, and cargo.
