This Split Hiking Tour will take you from Split to Inland Croatia! Escape the city and enjoy an amazing hike through forgotten border villages that divided the great Turkish and Venetian empires on the eastern side of Split. A unique Croatian day adventure that requires medium physical effort but gives maximum rewards!
Day 1: Hike Back in Time
Just up over the hills that separate the coast from the interior is a region of timeless, forgotten border villages that divided the great Turkish and Venetian empires. Here, among the fields and hermits’ caves rich with archeological findings, people lived precariously for centuries between two great cultures.
The old trail we’ll take is fascinating; this route once served people, trade, transport, outlaws, and livestock, and it winds through nature and sparsely populated hamlets.
This tour lasts approximately 5 hours and is intermediate between a Split hiking tour and walking tour.
