Croatia Tour Itinerary
Meet your guides at Zadar airport and depart on a 50min transfer to Starigrad in Paklenica national park. Due to the vicinity and the easy access to the mountains, Starigrad is a traditional gathering place for hikers and climbers, adventurers and scientists, and all nature lovers who come to enjoy the beauties of Paklenica and the Velebit. After arrival at your accommodation in Starigrad Paklenica, enjoy a welcome briefing, welcome drink and an easy ride, and bike fitting – so all would be ready for rides in upcoming days.
We begin our day with breakfast before departing to the starting point of today’s mountain bike tour on Velebit, one of the largest mountains in this area of the Dinarides. Our tour today takes us to Majstorska Road – or Master’s Road – named for its masterful achievement in road construction, with numerous hairpin bends between the canyons and the peaks; it is the most famous dirt road in Croatia. The peak area of Velebit is characterised by exceptionally unique karst landforms. Majstorska Road passes through Tulove grede – a pronounced group of vertical limestone blocks, peaks and towers.
Begin the day with a transfer to the town of Knin, located near the spring of the Krka River and between the borders of Bosnia, Lika and Dalmatia; We will start our route on the old Napoleon trail towards east, a route which not only connects some of the most significant Croatian historical sights, but also some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. You’ll imbibe amazing views of Dinara mountain and the highest peak in Croatia, Sinjal, at 6,007 ft. and visit to stunning Centina River Spring. Cap the day’s activity off with lunch before moving on to Split.
Embark on a ferry to the island of Brač. Land of the finest olive oil, wines, green pastures, and so much more is an hour on a ferry away from Split. We’ll enjoy our coffee and a panoramic view of Split as we head to Supetar. Our cycling tour starts with a climb from Gažul to Vidova gora. Climb will pay off as we’ll have more energy to enjoy all the nature and human-made wonders in the day ahead. Top view from Vidova gora on one the World’s most beautiful beaches – the Golden cape beach – is just a start. Return on an evening ferry to Split.
After breakfast, we will proceed to the pier, from where you will embark on a ferry to the island of Hvar. We’ll begin today’s ride by cycling through Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to 4th century BC, when first colonized by the Ionian Greeks. Explore picturesque villags as we make our way to the peak of Sveti Nikola at more than 2,300 feet and with 360-degree views. We end in Hvar town, where we will spend our last night.
After exploring Croatian mountains, rivers, and islands, today, your tour ends in Hvar town. We can help you plan the return to Split airport or your extended stay in Croatia after the MTB trip, depending on your traveling arrangements.
